2018 - Taking it Easy... This year we pretty well stayed close to home with no international travel or cruises. Long flights don't appeal to us so much any more but we will be tempted to make some interesting excursions in 2019.
Meanwhile, Bruce has upcoming knee replacement surgery in early December so the holiday season this year is likely to be a somewhat restrained socially speaking while he recuperates and 'Coach Patty' ensures that he follows the rehab rules! Bruce is lucky to have one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the Northwest
looking after him, who also happens to be a personal friend, .

(The photo opposite was taken from our deck overlooking the first fairway: a dramatic sunrise on a cold and frosty morning).

SuperBowl Party 2018
Every year in early February we host a SuperBowl party for all our car friends. This coming February will be the fourteenth anniversary of this popular event.
We usually entertain over twenty guests and Patricia makes her famous chili and rice dish in a big heated slow cooker and Bruce supplies various beverages. This is supplemented by all kinds of delicious salads, entrees and desserts supplied by our wonderful guests, not to forget of course, their preferred beverages of choice!
In the new home, we have two separate large flat screen TVs, one on each floor, so no-one ever misses an exciting play while they are catching snacks or refilling glasses.
Here are a few of the happy crew from this year's celebrations even though the Seahawks weren't playing this time around.

Sudden Valley Golf and Country Club is adjacent to Lake Whatcom and we spent a great deal of time playing golf this summer, mostly here since we have a family membership but we also played with friends at some other local courses. Patricia plays regularly with the Ladies Group while Bruce just hacks away with whoever has the patience to play with him!

The course is beautifully maintained and this photo was taken on a sunny and warm Fall day approaching the fifth green and Lake Whatcom, (note the two swans and cygnet on the lake to the right of the pin). On this occasion, Bruce was playing with his regular partner, Gary and having purloined Patricia's cart, they had a relaxing and enjoyable game followed by lunch. This is what retirement should really be about.

The Jaguar Connection

Last month, Bruce decided to create a new online resource for Jaguar owners and aficionados. Facebook has become too intrusive and commercialized, so instead Bruce has moved to a new next generation social medium, MeWe.
This new Jaguar Connection Group already has twenty six members and can be viewed here

Looking forward to 2019

We leave 2018 celebrating the many friends and relatives we are blessed to have around us here in the Pacific Northwest as well as in England, Canada, New Zealand and other parts of the world. As we all grow older and often distance separates us, we sincerely hope that our communication, particularly at this time of year through cards or just this humble online newsletter, keeps us that much closer.
Our caring thoughts and best New Year wishes to all
May you be healthy, happy and have a wonderful 2019 .

With Love and Best Wishes,

Patricia and Bruce (Design and paper quilling by Patricia)
