2019 - A Year of Mixed Blessings... This year we started to experience the effects of growing older as health issues presented some challenges. Bruce's knee replacement surgery was successful and he is well on the way to full recovery. Patricia on the other hand has had continuing problems with atrial fibrillation and flutter which culminated in an ablation procedure in October, followed by heart monitor results that indicated a remaining blood flow problem. So far the ablation surgery seems to have been of benefit but now she has to take a stress test for further investigation. We'll keep you posted
Our planned Fall cruise naturally had to be cancelled so we are at least grateful that we had the opportunity to make a couple of trips to the sunshine in the Spring.

Springtime Excursions
In April and May this year we made two separate trips to visit with friends.
In California, we stayed at the Del Webb Sun City Shadow Hills Resort, did some shopping in the famous El Paseo district and at the popular College of the Desert weekend Street Fair. We also managed to hit a few golf balls at the beautiful Shadow Hills Golf Course and explored some local restaurants.
Our Puerto Vallarta, Mexico trip was especially memorable since we had not seen our host friends for many years and we had a lot to catch up. We 'Ubered' all over town finding fascinating restaurants and wonderful beaches not so easily discoverable on previous day trips or without the guidance of friends with so much local knowledge. The photo opposite shows us toasting Kirk at a home evening meal of scrumptious Gulf of Mexico shrimp, pasta and giant size Margaritas

Fifteen Minutes of Fame

.A surprise phone call from A J Baime, the Motoring Correspondent from the Wall Street Journal, and well known in the Motorsport Media, asked if he could do an article on me, my friend Chet and our 1971 MGB. He sent a photographer from Seattle to take a photo shoot using Sudden Valley Golf Course as the back drop. The article was duly published in the May 22 edition of the newspaper.
The actual photo shoot was a lot of fun with SVG&CC staff allowing us to drive along the golf cart pathway to the fifth green and sixth tee, an unprecidented goodwill gesture.

  Super Bowl 2019

In February we celebrated hosting our fourteenth Annual Super Bowl Party, bringing together again all our Car Club members with the exception of the Snow Birds. It was, as always a great turnout with lots of camaraderie, food and beverages since everyone brings some contribution to the event. None of us were impressed that the Patriots won again - they are not too popular in the Northwest!
The ladies made sure their presence was suitably recognized, even though the men seemed glued to the TV screens, they didn't miss out on any of the fun as can be seen from this photo.

May you have a Healthy, Happy and Wonderful 2020

As we leave 2019 we remember with love and sadness two very dear friends who are no longer with us. Nevertheless, we continue to celebrate our many friends and relatives we are blessed to have around us here in the Pacific Northwest as well
as England, Canada, New Zealand and other parts of the world.

Depending on Patricia's health, we hope to resume our travels next year and hopefully see more of you in person rather than just by communicating with cards and online newsletters. Please keep in touch and of course, you are always most welcome to visit us here.

With Love and Best Wishes,

Patricia and Bruce
