2020 - Annus horibilis - politics and a pandemic

Consequently our news for this year is brief and bereft of the usual comings and goings since for the most part we have stayed in the safety of our home. Like many in our age group, we have ventured out only for essential early morning seniors shopping excursions and necessary medical appointments. Thank goodness for online shopping, of which we have been taking full advantage. We are hoping that the Chinese originated COVID-19 virus will soon be countered by the much anticipated vaccines that have been so amazingly quickly created to quell the very alarming spread of this dreadful pandemic. Meanwhile, toxic politics, violent protests and urban looting here and elsewhere have just exacerbated the overall stress and anxiety of everyday life. Hopefully some aspects will start to improve shortly but the economy worldwide will take a long time to recover.

Golfing and Cars

On a brighter note, having the benefit of living on a golf course, Patricia in particular was able to play with the ladies' golf group throughout the summer, (one person per cart and socially distanced, of course) which provided plenty of fresh air and exercise.

Speaking of cars, Bruce purchased yet another Jaguar last March: an XK8 convertible. This is the second of this particular model he will have owned, this time in platinum silver, found on Vancouver Island, BC and returned to the USA just two days before the border closed! The Canada/US border remains closed at this time and for the foreseeable future

Stay healthy and stay safe in 2021

As we
plan for a different way to celebrate Christmas this year with no way to personally see Andrew, Kyle or any of our Canadian friends, we will endeavor to make contact in other ways.

We are hoping that you are coping well under these trying circumstances and perhaps we can share a Zoom call during the holidays. Just call or email us to set up a convenient date and time. Let's do everything we can to make 2021 far different from 2020. The next few months are likely to frighten even the bravest of us, but if we stay home, stay safe and get vaccinated when we can, it could bring a beautiful Spring.

With Love and Best Wishes,

Patricia and Bruce
