2010 - Slowing down on work, speeding up on leisure...... As usual we had a busy year, but much less travel, saving the big travel year for 2011 as we celebrate our fiftieth anniversary on March 18. It hardly seems that long ago since we celebrated our fortieth anniversary! It certainly does appear that time speeds up as one grows older even if we don't feel it, as fortunately we are both in good health. We continue to enjoy the company of our friends, play golf regularly in the summer months as well as driving the Jaguars to keep them happy. We entered the E-type in the local Depot Market European Car Show again this year and were proud to take 'Best of Show' over eighty seven other fine entrants. Patricia took the opportunity to check out our friends, Dan and Faith's new Aston Martin Vantage Convertible during the show - sweet!

Travel plans for next year

Since Bruce is stepping down as Chairman of the Bellingham Angel Group next month, (he will remain on the executive board) and retiring from the NW Economic Council Chair in March, we now will have lots more time to travel, starting with a 'Snowbird' trip to Mazatlan, Mexico in February, next Palm Springs, California in April and then an extended visit to Europe later in the year, including a revisit to the Goodwood Revival Meeting and a twelve day Mediterranean cruise. We are going to do our best to see as much family and as many friends as we can possibly fit into a compressed UK schedule before we head on to Venice.

Bumper crop of apples this summer

Our small orchard, (eight apple trees and a peach tree) produced a bumper crop this year so we ended up giving most away after we had bottled, made cider, lots of pies and anything else we could think of rather than tempting the local deer to jump the protective fence to gorge themselves. We probably did better than usual because last September, Patricia's nephew Ian visited with us from England and being in fruit farming all his life, gave Bruce some very useful hints on how to prune for best results. Seems like that did the trick.

Preparing for the Holiday Season

We enjoyed a double Thanksgiving this year: one in Canada, (always earlier than in the US) and then one here at home later - not good for the waistline but enjoyable all the same. As is our tradition, we will spend the Christmas holidays with Andrew and family in Canada. Meanwhile we seem to have attended a record number of Christmas parties already this season, so Bruce claims he will start a serious diet in the New Year! And for you too, we wish all of you good health, happiness and prosperity in 2011.

Love and best wishes,

Patricia and Bruce
