Family News - 2001

Well, this was quite a year for us, especially in the latter half. We have sold our house in Sudden Valley, remodeled our Condo in Hawaii, bought and partially remodeled our new Condo in Sudden Valley and purchased a storage unit for the cars in Bellingham. There were several times in the ensuing period that we felt we had just taken on too much in one year, but we wanted to get everything settled in one shot. We are certainly relieved that all of this was pretty well accomplished thus far.

Of course, there are still some remaining aspects to be completed in Hawaii, but they are not pressing. Oh yes, did I mention that we also managed to participate in four Jaguar Concours d'Elegance events during the summer from Vancouver, Canada to as far south as Portland, Oregon

Earlier last year in March, we celebrated our fortieth wedding anniversary. Click on the wedding photo to see more details of this event.

And in May Bruce retired from the IBM Corporation. (He says that if what he has experienced since, is what retirement is like, he'd better go back to work!)

In June were delighted to have Walter and Beth Henderson visit with us, (also their daughter, Karen who joined us for a trip to Whistler, BC).

Bruce went deep sea fishing recently with some friends and they caught an eighty five pound Marlin, which when shared out provided lots of sushi, poke and many other forms of very enjoyable delicacies for all involved.

Patricia has seen enough packing cartons and packing popcorn this year to last for the rest of her life, she claims! So for a change of pace we are starting to explore some of the beautiful beaches up and down the Kona Coast.

We are slowly settling down here in Hawaii. Everyone is wonderfully friendly and helpful.

We apologize to all of you who have written to us over the last few months and to whom we have not as yet replied. We know you will understand our thoughts are with you and now our computer is up and running, and the packing boxes have all been emptied, perhaps we can start communicating directly again! Meanwhile have a great 2002!

Aloha nui loa,

Bruce and Patricia
